We began shipping the first Steam Deck units to customers in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan on December 17th. It’s been great to see posts from happy customers receiving their Steam Decks, and we’ve been working hard to get them to customers as quickly as possible. While processing and delivery times may vary from a few days to a few weeks, we are pleased to announce that we’re on track to ship reservations placed prior to December 1st by the end of this year!
Specifically, we expect to have all pre-December 1st reservations shipped in Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan by December 26th. In South Korea, unanticipated transport and customs issues have caused delays into our warehouse. That said, we’ve overcome these issues and customer shipments will resume on December 26th, with all pre-December 1st South Korean reservations expected to be shipped by December 30th.
We’ve also looked into reports that customers are receiving units out-of-order of their reservation dates, and upon investigation, we found that there were unfortunately some cases where shipments hadn’t been processed in the proper order. We’ve worked with our warehouse partners to find and successfully resolve the issue, and moving forward, paid orders will be shipped in the order in which reservations were made, which was always our intention. Customers will receive an email with tracking information when their order is ready to be part of the next shipment.
Thank you all for your overwhelming interest in Steam Deck. Our goal is to provide customers with a positive experience, and we are working hard to answer support tickets, address delays, and deliver your Steam Decks as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
